Direct Connection to KNX IP Backbone

Malte Sesemann 2 years ago in Devices / KNX updated by Ricardo Pinto | visiontech pt 2 years ago 1

Hello,

I have a KNX installation with an IP backbone and 4 areas connected via IP routers. Currently, the BOS server is connected to one of the routers using the connection type 'KNX IP'.

In order for status messages, etc. from the other areas to reach the server, I have created a dummy object there in the ETS. Unfortunately, this slows things down considerably, as all commands pass through the area.

Is it possible to directly integrate the server into the IP backbone? I suspect that this might be achievable through the ConnectionType 'KNXnet/IP Routing (Falcon)'. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to establish a connection through this without guidance. Do I perhaps need to set up something like a dummy router in the ETS? Regrettably, I haven't come across any instructions or tutorials on this topic.

KNX/IP Gateway

Michiel Kenis 2 years ago in Devices / KNX updated 2 years ago 6

I see a lot of questions "similar to mine", but all refer to a much older version of the bOS, and seeing a lot of KNX interface updates in the changelog, this might justify my new question.

I'm trying to connect hardware to my KNX by using my Jigsaw as IP Gateway. While configuring, the bOS KNX Server is correctly detected; as is the IP address.

But when trying to control a device (let's say a light), nothing really happens. I'm monitoring the bus both by ETS Diagnostics, as well as bOS logs; but no traffic is detected.

Am I missing some kind of option/activation?

ETS will not connect through Jigsaw without restarting it after every boot

Viktu Pons Colomer 2 years ago in Devices / KNX updated by ComfortClick Support 2 years ago 3

Hi there, since latest update (4.9.23), every time my Comfortclick boots (either with an ordered shutdown/restart, or with a powerloss) I have to stop jigsaw knx server, wait few seconds, start it to make ETS work.

Am I the only affected? Any way to solve it?

Thank you

buttons not working

stephen andries 2 years ago in Devices / KNX updated by ComfortClick Support 2 years ago 1

Hello,

i'm new here. i have just started building my knx installation. I want to use my jigsaw pro for visualisation.

What i've done so far, is create a simpel button that switches an output on my actuator. It all works perfect including status feedback on my button.

Then i exported my project out of ets6, and imported it in bOs configurator. Both groupadresses show up perfectly (status and switching)

now i created a template and dragged the switch button on it, but it doesn't work. i can acces the visualisation on my webbrowser perfectly, i see the button i've created, but if i click it, nothing happens.

i've tried setting the value from boolean, to switch, to undefined, .... enabled transfer, read and write under the communication tab from the groupadress .... nothing seems to fix it.

i've watched the tutorials, but they are outdated, the current popup interaces when importing ets project, are different now, i'm not able to select sertain things the do in the video

any ideas?

KNX Remote Programming through Jigsaw

Fatlum Telaku 2 years ago in Devices / KNX updated by ComfortClick Support 1 year ago 5

In the new version of bOS configurator(4.9.23) there is the option for "KNX Remote Programming", which from what I understood means that we don't need a forwarded port because we can program our KNX devices remotely only through Jigsaw normally with a provided gateway.
I have tried it many times and the problem is sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. So, my question is, is this feature on testing phases or am I configuring anything wrong. To be specific most of the times it just shows the "Disconnected" sign, like in the picture attached.

Thanks in advance.

KNX TP Connection - "Error connecting the device - No response to connect"

Sem Craeghs 2 years ago in Devices / KNX updated by Ricardo Pinto | visiontech pt 2 years ago 2

I've attached the Jigsaw to my KNX installation by connecting the TP connection directly to the bus.

Seems the Jigsaw cannot start that way of communication.

Image 4470

On the other hand, when I try it by using the KNP IP gateway, it IS working!

So, how can I enable the Jigsaw's internal KNX TP bus connection instead of using the IP based connection?

Hello,
is there a script to restart a knx device, directly without going through ETS?
Thanks, Marco
