I have a ComfortClick bOS server installation running on a Windows Virtual Machine and need to move it to a new machine/Windows installation. 
Is there any step by step guide of how to do this? Or can you give me some hint and tips before starting?

1. Take backup of existing installation (4.8.20)

2. Install bOS server v 4.9.6 on new Windows machine 
3. Import backup from old installation to new
4. License?

Hi,

if i set up the Public address with my Domain exaple.myhome.net the Public address switch automatically back to my public IP address.

I use an proxy server to secure my test installation therefore i all HTTPS calls need to use the Domain name.

Is this a normal behavior or did i something wrong.

Hello everybody. 
I am having some issues after update the bOS server to 4.9 version. For example I can’t connect remotely for programming from Ets the KNX.  Also some buttons doesn’t responses at all. They take feedback values on or percentages values  in visualisation that aren’t existing and they don’t go to off. I had some KNX disconnections and I assumed that I had to change the KNX connection from IP KNX to jigsaw but some buttons steel aren’t working.

How many time during the update to the last version 4.9.1 ?

The bos configurator and client cannot connect to the server after 20 minutes that I have launched the update.

I can connect to windows with remote desktop.

I restart de bosService monitor but the new version is not installed.

I try to update windows and restart the entire server (windows restart) but the new version is not installed.
 .net 4.8 but is alredy installed.

Any idea about this issue ?

I noticed after installing the latest bOS Server, that any port and any protocol is enabled in the Windows firewall, creating a serious safety breach into the system. Especially if the server is connected to the internet or the home network is full of iot devices that are easily compromised. This is a serious security issue. Also looking at the amount of hack or intrusion attempts that happen every day on bOS, as parts of it are connected to the internet. A compromised bOS server gives the attacker full access to the rest of the network with these firewall settings. And it is a real risk if you consider the poor TLS protocols that where still in use before bOS 4.9.0.

I also noticed that multiple Firewall entries are created and probably not cleaned after upgrading to a newer version of bOS.

What are the minimum ports/protocols needed by bOS to function properly?

I have one server Confortclick Grinder but it doesn't boot Windows.

I need format Windows OS but then I will lose the comfortclick license. You can Help-me?

I suggest to make transfer of hardware little less a nightmare . You can do it via opening ticket in support like if it was a bug. Which means that in case of hardware failure you are in trouble.

Import didn't work I had to copy the old building directory into new server (think of also saving that preciously because if you think you are protected with back up you are not, when I see how painful it was to transfer the license I cannot imagine how easy it would be to get hep on that topic )

After you have to update all application phone table and other medium of the family, with a system that does not allow you to check password entered (which is so nice when you used secure randomly generated password and not "smarthome"). Redo the alexa setting and I dot not know what else if you have connected more.

And I bought bOS PRO license, I want to activate this bOS by the bOS Pro license.

I've updated my Jigsaw bOS version to 4.8.14 a few days ago, but today I've decided to update the Linux and KNX interface.

The Linux got the Mono upgraded from 5.20.1.19-1 version to version 6.4.0.198-2 and the KNX interface from v1 to v2.

The process ran without any problems, but right after that I've encountered some problems, even after reboot and reload:

• Philips HUE API: I've had the API running for several months, using HTTPS commands, as stated on the API documentation. After today's Linux upgrade, it stopped working. I had to change to regular HTTP command rather than HTTPS. Don't understand why...

• bOS RPC: I use the RPC for several things, and today it stopped working after the Linux upgrade. The funny thing, is that the local commands don't work. But I have IFTTT running some scenes remotely, and they work. So for me it doesn't make any sense... I have some local RPC command for testing, and they were working before this update.

Any advise?

I haven't checked yet other stuff I have configured, but I'm afraid to encounter more problems after this update.

I'm getting very very frequent errors (several times / day) on : 

• Z-Wave external device (not the built-in device which I do not use) : Error connecting to device. Failed to re-send
• Global Caché IP devices : Error connecting to device. No Ack

This starts happening since I updated my Jigsaw Z-Wave to 4.5. Continued in 4.8.8

They reconnect almost immediately ; but of course a few Z-Wave or GC orders are not executed while they are disconnected. So that's a big issue. 

I'm also using Grinder and Jigsaw KNX : I don't have any issues on these servers which have similar configs (but V 4.7.0)

I was wondering if there were any support issues with the Jigsaw Z-Wave that you are not selling anymore ? 

Can you help me fixing these issues ?
