UPS and UPS generic and Jigsaw

Francois Lesueur 7 years ago in Devices / Other updated by Paul G 4 years ago 1

Hello,

What is the difference between ""UPS and "UPS generics" devices ?

The help says that the UPS device is using the Windows drivers, and then can work only on bOS windows based systems. Are there / will there be any support for Jigsaw models ? Maybe with the UPS generic device ?

error connecting to KNX device

Francois Lesueur 7 years ago in Devices / KNX updated by Dieter Kraewinkels 5 years ago 27

Hello,

I'm getting many "error connecting to KNX device".

On my first system (Grinder), this is happening from times to times, for a very short period of time (<1 min).

This is not impacting the good operation of the system, except if this happening when bOS needs to issue a KNX command, but that's very rare, and then I noticed an impact only once.

I thought that maybe this was linked to my IP network that needed some troubleshooting.

But I've got another system, a KNX Jigsaw, for which the KNX error connecting to device is occurring every 2 minutes ! The KNX interface being incorporated into the Jigsaw, this can't be an issue with my environment.

I'm not using KNX on this Jigsaw, so I just disables the KNX interface, and problem was fixed for me.

Still I would like to understand how to fix these "error connecting to device" incidents.

I'm also getting them from times to times for all IP-connected devices: global Caché, Philips Hue, Denon amplifier, etc...

Thanks,

François

scene and z-wave

Francois Lesueur 7 years ago in Devices / Z-Wave updated 7 years ago 4

Hello,

I'm using scenes with all my Z-Wave devices (about 20 of them). Scenes on a room by room basis are working ok. But when I wanted to do the classical "turn off all the lights in the house" when leaving, I got a couple of lights remaining ON, while they were shown as off on bOS. (I'm using a KNX Jigsaw with a Z-Wave USB dongle).

I added delays everywhere (in the scenes, and in the program that is calling all "OFF" scenes on a room by room basis) ; it improved a lot reliability of my "All off" scenario. Still, one or two lights remained ON while shown as OFF.

A solution is to run the "All off" twice, but that's not very nice, and it's taking quite some time with all the delays I've added.

So, I can understand that sometimes Z-Wave commands get lost, but I'm struggling to understand why a "OFF" command updates bOS status to "OFF" for a given device, while the device is still on, which means that no "OFF status" has been sent to the controller.

I'm also wondering how scenes are working, i.e. do they take into account device acknowledgment ? Do they re-try to issue the order if they don't get correct device acknowledgment ?

I'm also using scenes with KNX on another system, and they are working perfectly fine.

Thanks in advance for your explanations,

François

I forgot to say that each room will have an Android Tablet to send the commands to the system. Is it possible to make something like this? Also inside the room we have install 3 push buttons that customer can press and select one of the 3 choices above.

Modbus integer - scaling value

Davorin Vuga 7 years ago in Devices / Modbus updated 7 years ago 3

Dear,

we try to connect Modbus TCP/IP thermostats with ComfortClick. All works OK.

We want to ask, how we can scale ratio of the holding register?

We have the value of the set temeperature, which needs to be scaled by 0.02 (or divided by 50).

If we use the "calculation" function, it is works for the input register (read), while the holding register is a problem because it is a read/writte.

so please help us.

Index was outside the bounds of the array

Francois Lesueur 7 years ago in Devices / Z-Wave updated 7 years ago 2

Hello,

I'm using old Fibaro Z-Wave modules. They are included into the Z-Wave controller without any issues, but the parameters are not populated automatically. So, I have to add them manually.

Sometimes, this is working fine ; some other times, I'm getting the "Index was outside the bounds of the array" message when I'm trying to set a parameter. (Reading parameters work fine.)

Example with a Fibaro FGS221 for which I added parameter 14 only (switch type) ; I can't modify this parameter, which is quite a problem as it means that I cannot control correctly the relay with the switch.

Thank you for your help,

François
