Error connecting to device

Hi everyone,

I have some strange behaviour of my vizualization. Over last months I have set up my vizu and it was working now for couple of months without any issues. Now, I am on my first my first vacation abroad since i have it ready and of course from time to time I am checking the situation of my house in my vizu. Mostly because I can rather than I need to 😉

Anyway, today on my third day of vacation all of a sudden I receive non-stop error messages when I am entering the vizu...first time that this happens and of course exactly then when I am not home.

The message is: Error connecting to device. Write: negative confirmation received from telegram. I also attach a screenshot. And directly after such a message it says that it is again connected.

I could also wait until I am back home from vacation to restart wlan/server etc, but I hope the one or the other might understand me that this keeps me restless that I cant access it right now. I have simply no idea why I get this messages non stop and also I can not click any buttons or similar. I did not change anything since I left home, which makes me think that it somehow connected to my internet router at home. The strange thing however is that I still receive data concerning temperature, brightness level etc. Also I still get video connection from my IPC cameras that are connected to the same network as my jigsaw server.

Does anyone have an idea whats going on? Maybe I need to restart my jigsaw server?

Would appreciate any thoughts/ideas on that issue.

You forgot to attach the screenshot, so we won't be able to help without additional information.

The device you refer as saying "Error connecting to device. Write: negative confirmation received from telegram", what type of device it is? KNX? Where are the temperature, brightness levels you refer coming from that you say you don't have problems? KNX also? I assume yes, due to the fact that you posted this under bOS Configurator / Devices / KNX. 

If you are getting temperatures, brightness, video from IP cameras, I assume that you may have some problem with a specific device within that device node. Example, a shutter actuator inside your KNX topology.

It would help if you share some more details about the error.

I'd avise to first check if any updates are available (Update, and System Update menus), reboot the Jigsaw, and make Reload on the visualization (top right menu on the Config software).

Then start by analysing the problematic device, like, does it happen with specific telegrams? With every telegram? So we can try to help you further.

If you're on vacations and can't wait, try to find a computer (hotel, etc) that you can use to install the Config software. Probably you're going to have a hard time finding a computer with permissions to install software, but you can also probably find lots of computers with full permissions :D

If you're not comfortable using a shared computer, you can also:


File for a free trial account on Amazon EC2, and use the virtual desktop to install the Config.


Ask a friend to let them use his computer for a couple of minutes, and connect to it via AnyDesk, Teamviewer, over your phone. It sucks, but I'm just getting you some options.

If it's not urgent, relax, enjoy the vacations and let it be until you return.
