Sonos IP settings

Steven Somers 3 weeks ago in Devices / Sonos updated by Jürgen Jürgenson 3 weeks ago 3

Hi

After my network restarts my Sonos wil get a New IP. So it loses connection to my Comfortclick. Solution is to go change the IP in the bOS configurator everytime. Can this be done automatic?

I can’t configure static IP with my modem.
Thanks

Steven

This is not possible with bOS client - right now you can only search for devices on bOS config. What model is your router?

it is from a Belgian telecom company (Telenet) and they don’t have the option for static/reserved IP adres.

Well that sucks, it's strange that they would limit their devices like that.
One option would be to add a different router - and it would do the DHCP part and static leases. Or if you can't turn off DHCP on the Telenet router/modem then maybe you can limit it so the DHCP pool would be small on it and other IOT devices would get its IP range from new router.
On Mikrotik routers you can make a static lease even when the device is set up as a bridge - but would be best if the router with the DHCP server would not try to give out new leased on that ip pool range.
