Can't import password protected knxproj

alexandros toufexis 8 months ago in Devices / KNX updated 8 months ago 2

After hitting 'Import data from ETS' and selecting the .knxproj file, nothing happens if the file is password protected. Non password protected files are loaded.

Server & config version: 4.9.36

Hello,

I don't remember seeing anything about importing password protected .knxproj files.

But, if you have the access to the original .knxproj file, which means you know the password, you can either:

  • Remove the password from the project
  • Export the .knxproj file without password
  • Put the password back

Or

  • Don't Remove the password
  • Export the file but by choosing OPC, which will transfer the .esf file with all of the group addresses

If you don't have access to the original file, which means you may received a project from someone that forgot that it's password protected, than kindly ask to export as OPC format, so you can have the .esf file.

The .esf file contains everything you need to work in bOS.

You can also export the group addresses inside ETS to XML format, which is acceptable from bOS.

Hope it helps

Best regards

Thank you for help!

It would be nice to be able a password protected knxproj instead of the esf.
