MODBUS: DEVICE LOST CONNECTION

Claudio Lauriola 2 years ago in Devices / Modbus updated by Jürgen Jürgenson 2 years ago 3

Dear Sirs,

I am working on a Jigsaw Pro (for time for me) and I am integrating modbus TCP/IP - RTU gateway.

When same slave lost communication I can see the message on the app as red log but I would like to show it as variable in the theme. How can do that? I have seen that slave device has not the "connect" status to read.

Thank you for your help.

BR

You can drag and drop the drivers Connected status to your theme, this will show you if the gateway itself has problems - as for the slave I would suggest you use analog log to monitor if they are responding. If the line is not drawn its probably not connected anymore. As of now you cant reset the driver from theme, but this should also be possible in the future.

Thank you Jurgen for your reply. Sorry but I did a mistake. I mean that on the serial modbus on board of Jigsaw Pro there are about 7 modbus devices connected.

"Connected" Status is boolean and it is related only to the main driver but if one of the slave does not communicate, because has not power supply, I cannot read  not any "status" on the slave.

How you can manage it?

Thanks.

BR

I think I understand what you meant. However, I'm not aware of any specific option to monitor slave devices that way. However, if the slave device regularly updates certain values such as temperature or fan speed, you can monitor those values using an analog log. The feasibility of this approach will depend on the capabilities and features of the specific device you are using.
