Sun related schedules

Jose Joaquin Ros Alarcon 7 years ago in bOS Configurator / Tasks updated by Paul G 3 years ago 3

Hi!!

Is there any options to make Sun related Schedules? I mean, to run a schedule when the sun sets, or rises. I know we have the Sun events, and they can be used in Programs, but our clients uses to configure theirselves the scenes and schedules, because it's very easy for them and comfortable for us, but they can't touch the programs.

They use to ask us for schedules "when the sun sets" or "when the sun rises", but I think we have no way to use Sun events on the schedules.

Do you think it could be interesting to develop as a Parameter of the Time Events on the Schedules? It could give the chance to set the time related to day or night events.

For example, in the time field to set 01:00 (1 hour), and in the parameters set "Before sunset" or "after day time", kind of.. It'd be very interesting.

Maybe there's a way and I just don't know it, I apologize in this case not to know how.

Thank you very much!!

Best regards

Fernando

Hello,

for now, its not possible to use the sun to set/start schedules, however, you can use the sun value to trigger scenes and manipulate the building using scenes, also clients can change and tweak the scene, similar to schedule.

Best regards.

i need a crepuscolar scheduler, like the ThinKnx Server !!!!

Why on earth would you want to do that?  I assume to mock up crepuscular schedule in the absence of a crepuscular detector, however, no point in doing that when BOS already gives you that information based on your desired location, hence avoiding any manual handling of crepuscular time!. Furthermore if what you want to have is an ad-hoc made crepuscular schedule that does not match to the reality then you can build your own schedule with the scheduler, the Think KNX functions are a bit crappy tbh, with all data passing through the Think KNX server, so your data is exposed to a third party.....no comments.

Check the  Time events and the variables, this is the frame I created using BOS crepuscular time, which is by far more accurate than any manual Think KNX unefficient schedule
