iPadOS client crashes
Since 4.8.12 the client is crashing with iPadOS 12.5.7 :
I set-up the server, I connect to this server. It's working. But at the next bOS client launch, it crashes. The server needs to be re-installed each time.
4.8.11 was working fine.
Can you either fix this bug, or set-up 4.8.12 as not compatible with iPadOS 12.5.7, which would force the iPad to download version 4.8.11 ?
Thanks,
François

hello
Have you been able to have a look ?
Thanks

Hello François,
unfortunately due to the mandatory update of .NET of the latest release to 6.0 the older iOS versions are no longer supported. Try updating the iPads to the newer iOS version for the bOS Client application.
You can use Safari to control your devices.
Best regards.
Hello,
I understand that bOS client 4.8.12 is not compatible with iPadOS 12.5.7, but you have uploaded 4.8.12 on the Apple store as if it was compatible with iPadOS 12.5.7. So, it’s not possible anymore to upload client 4.8.11.
I’m not asking to make client 4.8.12 compatible with an old iPadOS. I’d just like that this client to be correctly set-up on the Apple Store.
Then when I will upload bOS client from iPadOS 12.5.7, the Apple store will say that client 4.8.12 is not compatible, and will automatically upload 4.8.11, which is fine.
But unless the bOS client is correctly set-up on the Apple store, there are no ways I can install the old client.
My clients have many old iPads. I cannot change all of them. Using Safari is not user-friendly, and you cannot use « Guided access » on the iPad. (that’s a « kiosk mode » that will lock the screen on bOS client only.)
Could you set-up the new client with the correct compatibility information on the Apple store ?
Thanks,
François
Hi
I have exactly the same problem - inexpensive older iPads are ideal graphical clients used in "kiosk" mode. Can you please re-instate downloading of the older version that worked for older iPads. Many other app developers do this as a really helpful service to users.
Thanks
Andy
Hello François,
it would be best if we could arrange a testflight testing with you if possible. Please send us an email at support@comfortclick.com and we'll provide you with the information for testflight testing of the app. So we can troubleshoot the issue and see if we can get it working on your ipads.

Hello,
I've just sent you the email.

Hello,
I tried to install the latest bOS client version on my iOS 12.5.7 iPad.
Now, I'm getting a message "this version requires iOS 13.0 but you can download the latest compatible version" - which is great.
However, when I hit the "download" button, it's not downloaded anything, instead I'm getting the same message again. And again, and again. While it should download bOS 4.8.11, which is working perfectly well on this version of the iOS.
Could it be that bOS 4.8.11 is not available anymore on Apple repository ? Or is not flag correctly in term of iOS compatibility?
Regards,
François
Hello François,
what is the current bOS version installed on the pad? Also which versions were you able to install?
Best regards,
Hello,
I'm on iOS 12.5.7, and this is the last supported version on this iPad.
Your bOS client 4.8.11 was working fine on this iOS. So, the App store should propose to download this version.
Current version installed is 4.8.12 and it is crashing.
I tried an update of the bOS client, but as explained above it's not working.
Looking on the Internet, it seems this is because the bOS client version to download as the last compatible version with iOS 12.5.7, i.e. bOS 4.8.11, is not available on the repository / is not correctly set-up by the developer.
Thanks,
François
Hello François,
we'll release a new app on the store that will have support for older versions. I'll notify you once the app is released.
Best regards.
Hello François,
In the meantime, you can also try and follow the instructions below and check if the store will download the latest version that is compatible with your version (so version 4.8.11).
Let me know if this works for you.

Best regards.
Same issues we reported three months ago via ticket, thorough testing should have been done. Worse the web site was still showing all good with that iOS version.
The re'download does not work, you shoudl know that, because you need to make the app available but such is not the case.
BOS 4.11.8, client ipad version 4.8.15 and the old iOS 12.5.7 work again back in old ipads with the old ios
Hello Paul,
to clarify, is the app now working? Not sure if you were invited to our testflight for app testing, if not please let me know so we can invite you and you can test some pre-released versions.
Best regards.
Hello,
Following your instructions, I've been able to download bOS 4.8.12 for my iPad on iPadOS 12.5.7 connected to bOS server 4.7.0. It's working perfectly well.
Thank you for the fix.
François
