How do I store a current time value

I would like to store the a time value, I can't see a date/time field type

You can use the time value in string too - you just need to make a program for it that triggers the save.

Program and string value for saved date: Right now it triggers on time value change(saves after every 1 minute). Add Set value and select constant and add Time value for its properties.
